Majority Game released on the App Store

We are pleased to announce the availability of Majority Game on Apple's App Store. This game was invented by one of our own, Engr. Emmanuel Frank-Opigo. The game is enjoying encouraging sales on the App Store.

What is Majority Game?

MAJORITY is a game based on the United States Presidential Election system. The game board shows a "Majority map" of the United States duly adjusted to make it suitable for play. When a State is won, it contributes a number of "Electoral College Votes" towards the election of the candidate. There are a total of 538 Electoral College votes nationwide (50 states and Washington D.C.).

To win, a candidate needs one more than half of that number, that is, 269 + 1 = 270. That is also the number required to win the Presidential election in this game. The game is played between two persons or groups, representing the Democratic and Republican Parties. There are "collateral results" for Governorship, Senate and House of Representatives races. Hence in this game you could win a consolation prize even if you lost the main event.

Elements of the game MAJORITY

MAJORITY consists of the following: - A game board showing an adjusted "best fit" game map of the United States. - A set of 51 play tokens, , representing the 50 States and Washington DC. - A deck of 51 playing cards, representing the 50 States and Washington DC (for "Card Play" only). - Two normal dice.

The Game Board

The game board consists of eight rows and eleven columns (marked A-K). The cells defining the "Majority map" of the United States indicate the name of the State and the Electoral College vote. All the other cells contain information on the current and past U.S. presidents.
